Ready Set Tokyo: Daniel Michel, Boccia
Ready Set Tokyo. A brand new series profiling some of Australia’s Paralympic athletes on their road to Tokyo 2020.
Meet Daniel Michel, a Paralympic boccia champion in the making. Born with spinal muscular atrophy type 2, Daniel never had the opportunity to participate in sport until he found boccia.
At Rio 2016, he became the first Australian athlete to compete in boccia at the Paralympic Games in 16 years. Daniel’s relentless pursuit of excellence is evident to all those around him and his improvement as a player is matched only by his desire to turn his dream of Paralympic glory into reality.
