In this hands-on session we’ll hit the trail — virtually! You’ll learn best practices for implementing an adaptive hiking program as you hear from experienced adaptive hikers and learn about different equipment.

Whether scaling up thousands of feet of elevation, zipping along a river trail, or rolling through a secluded desert path, the combination of fitness and fresh air makes hiking an ideal adaptive sport. For many people with disabilities, particularly those not drawn to team-based or competitive sports, hiking offers exercise and recreation along with an opportunity for socialization.

While many adaptive sports programs offer general outdoor programming, only a handful have implemented adaptive hiking.
